Elder celebrated

 

 

LOCAL man Jack Barclay (94) was last month honoured for 70 years faithful service as an Elder of the Church of Scotland.

Mr Barclay, who was first ordained on December 19 1938, was presented with a certificate on Sunday, December 21st 2008 by the Rev Dr Iain Macnee, Church of Scotland minister at New Pitsligo.

Attending the presentation Councillor Stuart Pratt said: "Jack has been a faithful servant for 70 years, serving as section clerk from 1973 -1979.

"Seventy years as an Elder is just a marvellous achievement."
